A few tips and basic pieces of
info for anyone interested in the diet
What is it? - A lot of people get
the wrong idea about this diet because of the name. The Hay Diet could conjure
up images of eating hay and grain like a farm animal but the name actually comes
from it's creator. Dr. William Howard Hay. The hay diet is sometimes known as
the food combining diet and works on the basis that you don't eat any 2 of the
major food types in one meal. It's not only been known to help followers lose
weight but more seriously it's been linked to a reduce in diabetes, heart
disease and arthritis.
What's for Dinner - Items from list
A and B can be mixed and items from B and C can also be mixed but you should
never mix items from list A and C together.
Also no less than 4 hours should be left
between a list A meal and list C meal and vice versa.
A basic food list guide
List A - Protein, Meat, Poultry, Eggs,
Cheese, Fish, Soya Beans and Yoghurt
List B - Vegetables. nuts, seeds, butter,
olive oil and herbs
List C - Carbs, bread, potatoes, sweets,
biscuits, cakes, bread, pasta and oats
Good Bits - If you follow the diet
correctly you should see and feel a great improvement in your health
Bad Bits - You might find it hard
to find the right things if you're busy. For instance having a sandwich for
lunch would be a no-no, because a BLT, for example, would include carbs, protein
and vegetables all at the same time.
Celeb Fans - It's been said
Catherine Zeta Jones and Elizabeth Hurley have tried out this method.
