Audrey Hepburn Hair Style Look - Breakfast at Tiffanys

Audrey has so many iconic hair looks, but perhaps fighting it out for most iconic along with her gamine crop, is her Breakfast at Tiffany's hairdo.

The mistake most people make when trying to recreate this style is thinking it's simply a bun and that never quite matches up to Audrey's look. If you look at the hair style from the back, you can see that there's a lot more to it.

Audrey's hair would have been back-combed for some height at the top, then gathered back into a very secure French pleat which is tight at the back of the neck, going out as it gets taller and twisting slightly to create an almost "7" shape, with her hair then piled on top.

Her diamond tiara, and a LOT of strong-hold hairspray, finishing the look.

Audrey normally kept her hair, her natural dark brown shade but with Holly Golightly's look she had highlights at the front - something that was very modern at the time.

Audrey Hepburn Hair Style Look - Roman Holiday

For those who love Audrey's cute crop styles, here's a guide to one of her Sabrina/Roman Holiday looks.

If your hair is naturally wavy, apply a little texturizer to enhance them and let them dry naturally.

If your hair is straight, apply a little setting lotion and twist sections into little bun shapes while still damp before clipping them - leave the fringe straight though. Use the pic of Audrey being styled for inspiration.

Once the hair is completely dry, remove the pins and use your fingers to style your cute new curls.

 Audrey Hepburn Hair Style Trivia

Audrey was said to have been a fan of Philip Kingsley hair products. The London-based trichological consultant had been working since 1957, and one of his best-selling and most popular products Philip Kingsley Elasticizer was said to have been created for Audrey.

He created in specifically for her after she said she wanted a super-moisturising treatment that would repair her hair and keep it in great condition throughout the frequent colouring and styling done to her hair on movie sets.
