Suits - Most faces shapes, especially
hears and ovals
This is a tricky style, especially if you are
doing it yourself. If you'd like to wear your hair like this for a big occasion
you're best to practice it a few times before.
Firstly wash your hair, then when it's damp apply
some styling mousse, or for a truly old fashioned 'do use some setting lotion.
Once your hair is about 90% dry begin by making a
side parting, then take the front section of your hair and set it into a wave,
with pin curls. Do the same for the sections of hair on the side of your head.
For the curls at the back of the head make about
4 vertical rows of pin curls, people with thick full heads of hair might need to
make about 6 rows, with 3 on each half of the head.
When, and only when your hair is totally dry
brush out all your pin curls. If your hair is even a little bit damp it will
ruin all your hard work. You should be left with a head for of long lustrous
curls, but to put them up into Lana's style you will need to brush up your top
lock, back comb it slightly if you need to and make sure it stays put with some
hair spray. Now brush back the sides, pin in place and pin up the curls at the
back, into a style you are happy with.
If any of your curls are slightly messy at the
end, wrap them round your finger to shape into a softer curve, or for more
stubborn hair you could use a curling tong.
Again finish with lots of hair spray.
