Jessica Alba Diet and Body Tips
|
|
Since having second daughter Haven in August,
Jessica was back on the red carpet and looking slim again within weeks but she's
been being sensible and not pushing herself since the birth.
Jess has been taking to Twitter to talk about
her workouts and give tips to other new moms.
A few weeks after Haven's birth, Jessica
tweeted: "I did my first day of workout since I had the baby, just cardio for 40
min. -it's a start. Anyone else starting a fitness regimen?"
She also added: "My doctor told me I could
start after 2 weeks. -I'm going light, stationary bike and elliptical."
Jessica has also mentioned going hiking in
the Hollywood hills and working her way up to 30 minutes of cardio interval
training and circuit training with light weights.
Giving a tip to other new moms she said:
"Start with walking, and throw in 3 sets of lunges 20 per leg. You could even do
it while strolling your baby."

Jessica's Previous Diet and Workout Tips

In interviews from a few years back
Jessica said she says she's been watching her weight and diet since the age of
12: "Everyone in my family is heavily overweight. I wanted to be healthier, so I
started cooking for myself when I was 12 years old."
So, what does Jessica make for herself;
she said, "When I eat breakfast, I’ll have an egg-white omelette and fruit, or
cottage cheese and a peach. For lunch, I’ll have a salad. Dinner is usually
vegetables and chicken or fish. During the day I’ll have some dried fruit, or
I’ll have a chocolate or strawberry frozen yogurt. I don’t really eat desserts
or bread."
And when she hit the gym Jessica said, "I
try to work out every day for 45 minutes to an hour. I start out on the
treadmills or elliptical machine for 10 to 15 minutes to get my heart rate up to
180 beats per minute. Then I do 50 lunges and crunches. Next I get back on the
machine for another 10 minutes. Then I work on shoulders, biceps and triceps. I
do that non-stop for four sets. When I work out, I have energy and feel good
about myself."

Now she's a mom, however, Jessica is a lot
less strict; she told Self Magazine's February 2010 issue - "I think you have to
eat in a way that makes you feel your best. I include a lot of vegetables and
lean protein and fruits and grains in my diet. I'm not a big workout person.
Every single day I tell my girlfriends we're starting a regimen. and then it's,
like, "Want to get dinner? Want a glass of wine?"
As for exercise Jessica was often spotted
out running or jogging before having Honor but now all her running is after her
adorable daughter but she does still hit the gym when she can get the chance to.
She also told Fabulous Magazine in 2010:
"My cousin is a yoga instructor and comes to my house. Because it's
one-on-one, get a great workout."
