Emma Roberts Hair Style Guides

Seen - At an event in April  2011

Start by applying some volumising gel or mousse onto the roots after the hair has been washed.

Apply a little smoothing serum through the length, and blow-dry using a large round brush to create some volume and movement, plus a side-part.

Use a medium/large-sized curling iron to create curls like Emma's - taking large sections of hair at a time, rather than smaller sections.

Let the curls cool and set, then brush through gently to smooth them just a little.

Finish with a good amount of hairspray.

This look is fairly simple if you have straight hair: slick the hair back into a high ponytail, using a little gel or balm to smooth down the hair on top of the head.

Wrap some of the ponytail around the hair band to cover it.

Finish by running some straighteners over the length of the ponytail for an extra sleek finish if you feel you need it.

For curly hair, blow-dry the hair with a paddle brush and some frizz-ease products before following the ponytail-creating steps above.

Top Tip - Don't make the ponytail too tight because it can cause some damage or breakage at the roots - especially at the front of the hairline.

Create some curls using medium sized tongs - taking them up to about ear-length, leaving the top smooth.

Don't brush the curls through, just run your fingers through them to break them up a little.

If you have some short layers at the front, like Emma, curl them up to the forehead.

Make a side parting then gently gather hair back into a low ponytail, leaving a small section at the larger side of the parting loose to frame your face.

Secure the ponytail with a simple hair band then finish with a light mist of hairspray to help the curls hold their shape.
