Seen At
- Katy started sporting her purple look in April 2012
Extensions? Judging from
Katy's February bob, some of this length is surely from extensions
In April Katy ditched the blue
for a lot more purple, mixing it with black.
For a similar purple shade try
out
Manic Panic's Puple Haze Hair
Dye
.
For the style, use some
medium-large curling irons and take random sections of hair to wrap
around the iron and turn into waves and ringlets.

The Look - Colorful
Faux-Ponytail
It's a little difficult to
tell which parts are Katy's real hair here but looking at the
shading you can see the plait looks like her real hair.
To get the look scrape the
hair up into a high ponytail and plait it before attaching your
faux-pony piece and securing with a strong elastic.
Take the real hair plait and
wrap it around your securing elastic, securing with pins as you go.
Complete the look with a
little hairspray, securing the style and patting down any flyaways.

To achieve the style, begin by
applying some setting lotion to damp hair to give the style hold.
Create a side-parting and
blow-dry smooth using a round brush to increase volume at the crown.
Using a large-barrel curling iron, or
hot-rollers if you have them, take sections of hair (roughly 2-inches wide each)
and wrap them up to the roots.
Brush the style to finish and secure with
a mist of hairspray.

The
Look
- Vintage Victory Rolls
As
with the look above, for Katy's lilac/pink hue, try out
Manic Panic's gorgeous Sweet Heather color
hair dye.
In creating this retro-glam
look, Katy was styled by Ben Skervin.
He first parted the hair in
the center and took two sections (just behind the ear to the crown)
to the back of the parting.
He lightly backcombed each
side section to give a base for the roll, then brushed upwards from
the ear and downwards from the center part before rolling the hair
inwards to the parting to form a long sausage shape. Make sure it's
quite high up on head so from the front the shape looks nice and
square.
Using bobby, and u-shaped
grips secure the roll in place. Ben used a little
Oribe Rock Hard Gel to smooth the sides and hold them in place.
The same process was repeated
on the other side.
As for the back, he just
brushed into a wave. To finish use a little hair spray to smooth
away any fly-aways.

At - The 2011Peoples Choice Awards
Suits - Most face
shapes
Beginning with freshly-washed and
towel-dried hair, Katy's stylist Danilo began by misting her hair with
Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Style Heat Protection and Shine Spray.
Focusing on the roots he
applied some
Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Style Root Lifter Spray Gel
for a volume boost; and after the product prep', Danilo
blow-dried Katy's hair.
Once dry, her applied a small
amount of
Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Smoothing Balm
section-by-section before using a medium-sized curling iron
to set each section, taking the curl up to about jaw length. (Take
sections of hair about two inches wide for Katy's full, wavy look.)
Curls created, he sprayed on
some
Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Professional Level Style Shaping Hairspray
then let the style set and cool for five minutes.
