Celebrity Hair Styles - Shoulder Length

Suits - Most face shapes

Seen At - The January 2011 Art of Elysium Gala  held in Hollywood

Kirsten's cut here is a simple shoulder length bob.

If you have straight hair, this style should come pretty naturally; just sweep all the hair to one side and back comb the roots for a little volume if you need to.

For wavy or curly hair, blow-dry using a large round brush - creating volume from the parting and turning the ends under ever so slightly.

Color - Dark Brown

Suits - Most face shapes

To style this look needs lots of texture so add some volumising mousse or spray to the roots of damp hair.

Apply to medium-large sized velcro rollers, rolling up to the roots for volume. For some extra curl and kick at the ends you might also want to use a curling iron to curl some sections - holding the tongs for about 10 seconds to lock the wave in place.

Once dry, gently remove the rollers and secure your new waves and curls with hairspray.

Color - Very dark chocolate brown

Suits - Most face shapes, especially good if you have a wide or high forehead

Good For - Straight hair.  If your hair is naturally curly avoid this style unless you're happy to style and straighten your bangs as often as is needed

For this look it's best to start off with a shoulder length bob and some eye skimming bangs.

To style apply some anti-frizz serum to damp hair then blow dry with a small round, or flat brush.

Once dry run some straighteners over the ends and on your bangs if you feel you need it. For super straight bangs hold the hair tight between your second and third fingers then use a small flat iron.

Finish with some shining spray, such as TIGI Bed Head Brunette Shine Spray.

Suits- Oval and Heart shaped faces.

Color- A dark brown base with a few lighter brown and coppery highlights.

Good For- Medium to Long hair

To get this look apply John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum, to towel dried hair then dry with a diffuser.

Section off your hair ear to ear and use a large curling iron to create a mass of tumbling ringlets around your face.

Twist the back section of hair into a tight tube and secure with a bobby pin. Tong the ends and finish by raking some wax through your hair to break up the curls, then randomly pin up some tendrils, leaving your hair a little loose for more of a romantic look.

Colour - Ice Blonde; Paris also has some brown streaks at the bottom which are possibly temporary

Suits - Almost every face shape.

This is one of the easiest looks to get but it's hard to maintain if your hair is curly, or even wavy, as it requires straightening every day.

Ask your hair dresser for a shoulder length cut, with a long side sweeping fringe.

To style straighten if your hair is curly, or blow-dry straight.

Finish with a nice girly touch like Paris's head band.

For this look, begin by spraying the hair with a volumising spray, such as John Frieda Luxurious Volume Lavish Lift Root Booster, section by section.  Make sure to spray the roots for a really full, volumous look at the top.

Blow-dry with a round brush to add some body and movement.

Mist some heat styling spray over the hair - spraying one section at a time before using a  large-barrel curling iron to add lift and curl to the whole head.

Once complete, brush out the curls to keep the style looking natural but still leaving the full-body effect.

Gently tease the hair back and secure, leaving just a few tendrils loose at the ears.

To set the look, finish with some hairspray that offers medium hold, rather than a super-strong hold as you want this look to be left with some movement and not be rock-hard.

The Look -Beachy waves

Seen At - The July 2011premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

For this pretty look, start by working some styling

mousse onto damp hair.

Blow dry two-inch sections with a round brush, using it to add some movement and subtle shape through the length.

Taking sections of about two-inchs again, mist with styling spray then loosely wrap the ends around a medium-large-sized curling iron.

Hold the curls in the irons for a few seconds to help them set, then release and move onto the next bit.

Don't be too fussy when creating the curls - they don't all have to be perfect or going in the same direction - they should look lovely and natural.

Finish by running your fingers through your hair to break up the curls a little; then apply some hairspray for hold.

Suits - Most face shapes, expect square or long

Color - Chocolate Brown

Seen At - An event in April 2009

For this look apply some shine spray to damp hair and blow-dry with a medium-sized round brush - using it to give a little volume boost to the roots and slightly turn under bangs or any short layers if you have them.

For those low-key waves and curls, lightly mist some texturising spray of the ends and wrap them up with a large curling iron - don't use a small barrelled curling iron or you'll get a look that's more Shirley Temple that sexy curls.

Finish with some shining spray if you feel you need, but try to lay-off a lot of products with this look.

The Look - Faux-bob

Seen At - A movie premiere in 2007

Best on - Shoulder-length hair; the longer the hair the trickier this will be

Creating this look, Eva had her mid-length hair pinned up to create a bobbed look for the night.

For this look you can use tongs to create the curls but rollers are a great way too.

If you're blow-drying, spritz some volumising mousse into the roots and blow-dry with a round brush to create a deep side parting and boost the root height a little.  Leave the hair still about 10% damp for the next part.

Taking some medium-large sized rollers wrap large sections of your hair around them, going almost as high up the head as you can.

Let the hair dry and the curls set.  Once your hair is totally dry, remove the rollers and pin the the extra length up and underneath to the nape of the neck to create the bobbed length - of course, if your hair is the right length you don't need to do that.

Finish with a good mist of hairspray to keep everything in place.

The Look - Glam Hollywood Curls

Seen At - The 2009 Met Gala

For the star-studded event, Liv was styled by David Babaii.

To create the style, David used FHI HEAT Large-Barrel Curling Irons.

He created a side parting, just above the highest point of Liv's eyebrow.  He then sectioned the hair into four sections - top, nape, and one each side.

Before curling he spray some of his Volcanic Ash Root Lift onto each strand, then, after curling, he would pin each curl so it would have better hold.

Once the curls cooled, the pins were removed and the hair was brushed through with fingers.

David finished by tucking one side behind the ear then spraying with Mise en Plis Extra Hold Styling Spray.

Color - A mix of baby and light golden blonde

Suits - Most face shapes

This is a great layered cut that's flattering on most face shapes; to get the look print out this picture or take one from a magazine to show your hairdresser exactly what your looking for.

Styling Kelly's sleek layered look, you should apply a little smoothing balm to damp hair; then blow-dry using a mix of round and paddle brushes.

Create a part on the side of your choice and use the round brush to boost some height into the roots, slightly curling under your face-framing layers too; use the paddle brush to straighten the lengths.

If your after an extra-sleek finish run some ceramic straighteners over the length and ends too - this will also help add some shine.

Suits - Most face shapes, except long

For this look take a picture to show your hairdresser exactly what you want, or ask for a bob with an elongated shoulder-length front.

Apply a little smoothing balm to freshly-washed hair, create the centre part and blow-dry using a paddle brush.

Run some flat irons over the ends for a perfectly straight look.

Seen At - The 2011 Grammy Awards

Rihanna was styled by Ursula Stephen for the event, who used a curling iron rather the a straightening iron to straighten and smooth Rihanna's hair before curling the ends.

Rihanna's curls were pinned up as they cooled to help them retain their shape longer.

Once the curls cooled, the pins were removed and allowed to fall naturally how the wanted with the hair then teased into place with the fingers to frame the face.

The style was completed with a few spritzs of styling spray to lock in the style and to add some extra shine.

Suits - Almost every face shape

Dita likes to use hot barrel tongs to create her curly look, she says they create just the right amount of volume for creating the 40s look, she loves so much.

For this look you should apply some styling mousse to your hair after washing it.

When the hair is completely dry tong all your hair but only go up to just above the ear, leaving the top of the hair straight.

Back comb a little at the roots and crown for an extra little bit of volume and finish with a liberal spray of the classic L'Oreal Elnett.
