Hair Styles - Mid-Brown |

Medium brown hair is a very versatile color that works
well on most skin tones and color combinations. And while very dark hair
may require various treatments or harsh bleaching to go blonde, this color is
attainable by all.

Keira's
latest look, this ultra chic precision-cut bob she first sported at
the Chanel Fashion Show in October.
Suits - Square-shaped,
angular faces, or those with strong features - Keira has great
cheekbones and this cut really emphasises them
Best for - Straight
hair - but Keira has also rocked this bob in a wavy look.
Most hairdressers keep up with
the latest celeb cuts, so if you ask for Keira Knightley's bob,
they'll likely know what you want. Otherwise you can print out
a pic and take it to show them (the one below is a good example.)

To style, this look requires
blow-drying for it's ultra slick, non-frizzy finish and volume at
the roots.
When your hair is damp, apply
a little volumising mousse into the roots using your fingers, then
blow-dry using a round brush to create that volume and use turn the
ends in every so slightly.
Once dry, finish with a spritz
of shine spray.

Color
- A mid brown base with lots of golden brown highlights
Suits - Oval shaped faces
Best For - Naturally straight hair
To get this look you should simply be able to ask your
hairdresser for a "pob" and if there as style savvy as they should be they'll be
able to give you this look no problem.
To style blow dry your hair straight using a round brush
to add some volume at the roots, this style can look very bad if left flat.
Run some straighteners over the length and ends for
Victoria's sleek look. To get some extra shine like hers also apply some shine
enhancing spray, such as
Gucci Envy Scented Hair Shine Spray ,
which Victoria would surely love.
Finally create a slight side parting and position your
hair over the sides of your face to create Victoria's narrowing look.

Start
by applying a good about of volumizing mousse, such as Finesse BeautiFULL Volume
Mousse, to damp hair.
Blow-dry using a large round
brush, pulling the brush up and out from the face for the lengths
then flicking the hair out at the ends.
Create a side parting and back
comb the the roots of it going off into each direction for Selita's
volumous look.
Finish with a good mist of
volume hairspray - don't use too much though; this look shouldn't be
rock hard - it's all about movement.

Back in 2007 Cheryl sported a chic heavily
fringed style. To get the look sprint out the pic to show your hairdresser or
alternatively ask for a straight just-below-the-shoulder length cut with a full
eye-skimming fringe.
This look is quite bold to go for, especially
if you're not sure whether you'll suit a fringe but the length of this fringe
means you should be able to clip it back if you're unsure about how it looks.
Color - Dark Chestnut Brown
Best for - Straight hair unless
you're happy to straighten this style everyday or else have a curly fringe.
To style apply some hair polish (Silk
Elements Glossing Polish
should help add gloss and shine) into damp hair then blow-dry - use a large
round brush if you'd prefer a bit of bounce or a paddle brush if your after a
straighter look like Cheryl's.
For Cheryl's perfectly straight and glossy
look you might also want to finish by using a flat iron.

Color - Chocolate Brown
Seen At - An event in April 2009
For this look apply some shine
spray to damp
hair and blow-dry with a medium-sized round
brush - using it to give a little volume boost to the roots and
slightly turn under bangs or any short layers if you have them.
For those low-key waves and
curls, lightly mist some texturising spray of the ends and wrap them
up with a large curling iron - don't use a small barrelled curling
iron or you'll get a look that's more Shirley Temple that sexy
curls.
Finish with some shining spray
if you feel you need, but try to lay-off a lot of products with this
look.

Color-
Dark, glossy brown.
Suits- Oval, or long faces.
Good For- Straight hair, or hair
with a loose curl, or wave.
Start with a long layered cut, with bangs
and long layers around the face.
If you have straight hair apply some styling mousse while it's
damp and use a hot air styling brush, such as Nicky Clarke's Hot Air Styling
Brush, to give it bounce, especially at the bottom.
If you have curly or wavy hair blow-dry
while its damp, with some straightening balm, before beginning the steps above.

Finish of the style with a liberal spray
of one of Elizabeth's hair favourites
L'Oreal Elnett hair spray.

The
Look - Super-pretty side-swept bun
Seen at - The 2010 Emmy
Awards
Creating this look, Keri was styled by
Jonathan Hanousek.
Keri's hair is naturally curly
but instead of straightenening them out, they were enhanced and
refined for this look with a touch of
MoroccanOil Light before being blow-dried with a
diffuser.
Extra refinement was added
with a one-inch barrel curling iron wrapped around random curls.
Jonathon then sprayed on
MoroccanOil Glimmer Spray and raked it through her hair
with his fingers, breaking up her hairline.
Gathering the hair back, he
pulled it into a side ponytail that pinned into a loose bun.

Frederic Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray was applied; then,
the finishing touch: a flower adornment from Jennifer Behr.

before going all dark.
To get the look work some styling mousse through damp hair
and blow-dry using a paddle brush for a look that's straight at the top but some
body at the ends.
For some extra curl and kick at the ends you might want to
use a small curling iron.
Finish with some finishing spray.

Illustrated event in February 2011
Irina has two go-to hair looks -
down or up in a ponytail. Here's a guide for her up-do look:
Some people have hair that is
naturally right for this still so, if you do, just skip the first
step.
Apply some volumising mousse
to damp hair, then blow-fry with a large round brush, using it to
boost root volume and add some movement to the ends.
Once dry, smooth the hair back
(leaving one long section at the side loose - it should be about 2
inches wide) and gather it into o a high ponytail at the back of the
head, securing with a discreet band.
Take the section you left
loose and wrap it up and around to cover the hair band, tucking into
place at the end.
Top Tip - Don't make
the ponytail too tight because it can cause some damage or breakage
at the roots - especially at the front of the hairline.

For Mila's simple yet very sexy awards look, first apply
some smoothing balm or serum to damp hair.
Create your parting and blow-drying using a medium-sized
round brush.
Create some curls using a small-medium sized curling iron
- taking the curl up to about chin/jaw length.
Pull your new curls into a low ponytail at the back of the
head but leave a little loose to tie up and cover your ponytail-securing
elastic.

If you feel your ponytail is too curly, run your fingers
through the length to break the curls up a little, but remember they will
probably drop a little over time.
Finish the look with some shine-enhancing lacquer.

To get Angelina's
romantic up-do, first, spritz on some volumising spray then
blow-dry.
Use large-barrel
curling irons (or extra-large velcro or hot rollers, whichever
you prefer) to curl the hair.
Loosen the curls by running your fingers
through your hair them. Your not really looking for lots
of curls, just big volume.
Tease the roots into a style your happy
with and pull the hair back into a loose ponytail.
Divide the ponytail into sections, lightly
twisting each one and pinning it up at the back.
Gently pull a few tendrils out at the from
for some face-framing pieces.
Finish with a good misting of hairspray
hairspray.

The Look - Messy Fishtail Braid
Color - Dark brown with light golden brown
sections framing the face
Seen At - The January 2011 Premiere of The
Roommate
For this look, most of the length will be tied
together so straightening and blow-drying isn't an absolute must.
Gather all your hair as if making a low ponytail
at the back then swwp it round to one side. If you have some
shorter lengths that fall down around the side it's fine - this
style isn't meant to look perfect.
When creating Minka's fishtail braid keep it
loose at the top, making it tighter as you near the ends.
Leave a some length free, then add it a discreet
elastic to secure the look.
Again, the braid doesn't have to be perfectly
neat - Minka has layered hair so some of the shorter lengths has
sprigged out adding to the messy look.

For Mischa's gorgeous shiny
look, first spray on some shine spray to the hair before blow-drying
with a round brush.
If you have curly hair try
Moroccanoil Treatment which is great for natural curls and adds
shine too.
Towards the ends of the hair,
use the brush to add some movement and turn the hair out but if that
doesn't provide you with quite enough curl use some large barrelled
curling irons on wide sections, adding some subtle curl and bounced
out shape.
Create your side part and
sweep all hair to one side for Mischa's complete look.

Seen At - An event in May 2010
For this style it isn't essential to have super
smooth hair, it looks good with waves an texture too; but if you
have natural curls and want Nicky's total look, first apply some
silkening balm and blow-dry your hair straight with a paddle brush.
Create a centre parting and gather your hair at
the back, dividing into two equally sized low ponytail sections, one
behind each ear.
Plait each ponytail and pin them up and into the
scalp, over the top of your head like Nicky.

The tricky part is getting the ends of each to
look like the merge together - it's best to use hair pins that
closely match your hair shade for this, placing them in a
criss-cross shape over the ends.
Use hairspray lacquer to help and shine and keep
the style in place. You can also use it to help dab down any
frizzy or stick-out hairs.
Shorter
haired girls can cheat their way to this style with the help of
a Sephora Collection Thick Braid Headband.

The Look - Sleek long layers
Color - Dark brown with a few subtle
highlights of golden and chocolate browns
For this look, first work a little shine serum or
cream through damp hair.
Create a side-parting and if you have long layers
like Ashley or some bangs, smooth them to one side.
Blow-dry with a paddle brush to straighten the
hair, and ever so slightly cup the long layer or your bangs under (a
round brush works better for this part).
If you still have any kinks when the hair is all
dry, just run some ceramic straighteners over them.
The look should be complete but, if you like, you
can finish with a mist of shine spray for an extra glossy look.

Seen at - The 2010
Hollywood Style Awards
For this look you might want
to begin by applying a little volumiser to damp hair then
blow-drying it upside down to add some height and lift at the roots,
but it's not essential.
Gather all your hair up into a
high ponytail at the back of the head (again, like with the
blow-drying, your might find this easier to do with your head upside
down).

Loop the length of the
ponytail up above the band then wrap it around the base with the
loose end tucked under the wrapped part. This is basically how
you create a ballet bun too but the difference with Jessica's style
is it's loosely wrapped for a fuller look, rather than a ballet bun
which is tightly wrapped for a neater look.
Use a few pins and a mist of
hairspray to keep the bun secure.
If you have any short length
tendrils, that didn't make it into the ponytail, left at the front,
use a medium sized curling iron to give them a romantic look and
polished finish.

This
look has a lot of healthy shine, so first apply some shine-enhancing
and heat-protectant products into freshly-washed hair.Create a centre part and
blow-dry using a paddle brush - avoid using a round brush as that
could give this look a little too much height.
After blow-drying use some
curling irons to create the gorgeous ringlets. Take wide
sections of hair and hold the iron vertically as you wrap the hair
around - going up to about ear-height. Hold for about 15
seconds before releasing.
Once you've curled all the way
around, brush the hair at the top and sides of the head smooth and
gather the hair from either side at the centre of the back of the
hair, securing with a grip of your choice; it can be as plain or as
fancy as you want.

Creating this style, make a deep side-part sweep
all hair across to one side.*
Leave some hair loose to frame the face, then
braid the rest into a wide plait before securing at the end with a
discreet hair elastic.
Isabeli had some extensions added to her ponytail
for extra length and thickness.
This look is very dishevelled so it doesn't
matter if some hair come free from the plait or at the back.
*You can also enhance some light texture and wave
by applying a little texturising spray onto your hands and
scrunching to create some waves at the top of the style before
working on the plait.
