- Out and about in August 2011All-out blue would be
a bit much but Kate got papped rocking some sweet blue dip-dye locks that are a
great alternative to a
too-blue look.
A blue dye like
Special Effects FX Hair Dye in Fish Bowl Blue
would work great on blondes but darker hair would need to be bleached
before hand.
Alternatively
darker hair colors would try some
Clip-in Blue Hair Extensions.

For Kate's pretty-glam
look, first spritz some texturizing spray over the lengths of damp
hair.
Create a center parting and
blow-dry hair to create smoothness as well as a little body.
To create the waves, use some
medium-sized curling irons, wrapping sections of about 1-2 inches,
up to about eye height.
If you usually have problems
making your curls last, try spraying the hair with a little extra
texturizing spray before using the tongs.
Once the curl creating is
complete, run your fingers through and scrunch them a little -
don't brush them through though!
Finish with a mist some
strong-hold hairspray over the curls, another step which should help
them last all night.

For this look, first blow-dry the hair straight,
and, if you need to, take a flat iron to the roots for Kate's extra
smooth look.
Create a centre parting then, take small-medium
sized sections of hair and wrap them up a curling-iron up (about a
two-inch barrel is best) until around ear length, leaving the top
completely straight.

Attending the Style Awards in December 2010, Kate
wore her hair in the very simple but very pretty hairdo.
When creating a bun it's usually easier for hair
that isn't super clean so if you've got straight hair there
shouldn't be any need to wash first.
If your hair is curly or wavy though, Kate's look
needs a smooth, kink-free base, so blow-dry using a flat brush if
you feel you need to, then apply a small amount of gel to help you
style.
Brush your hair through and gather it back into a
ponytail, securing with a discreet elastic, making sure there are no
bumps or parts forming at the top or sides of your head.

Twist your ponytail then loop it up once before
wrapping the rest of the length around the loop and the base of the
ponytail, tucking the loose end under or into the loop, depending on
where it ends.
If wrapped tightly enough, the bun can hold
itself but if you want to feel secure and safe for the night use a
few hair pins to help keep everything in place.
Finish with some smoothing balm or gel to get rid
of any frizzy or flyaway hairs.
